We are now in our fifth year of our TOMODACHI U.S.-Japan Youth Exchange Program. This summer’s program runs from July 15 – August 15, 2017, with the first half in Washington, DC and the second half in Japan.

Also, most importantly, be sure to check out the student blog – and leave your comments. This is where our Japanese and DC students share what they are experiencing and reflect on what they’re learning.

The TOMODACHI U.S.-Japan Youth Exchange Program, inaugurated in 2013, is sponsored by the U.S. Japan Council’s TOMODACHI Initiative and administered by American Councils for International Education and their partners, Globalize DC in Washington, DC, and Common Earth as our Japan-based partner. The program is offered at no cost to participants, thanks to the generous support of Toyota Motor Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Hitachi, Ltd. The program also depends on many individuals and organizations in both Japan and DC who generously contribute their time, resources, expertise, and personal stories to create a memorable and life-transforming program for our TOMODACHI USJYEP participants. We thank them all.
