The Big Ideas – 2013

Throughout the summer 2013 program, the twelve DC and Japanese TOMODACHI students visited so many places, and heard, observed, and learned so many new things. We (the students) went through a process of reflecting on and discussing the ideas that were most meaningful to us, and came up with our set of “Big Ideas.” Each student then signed up to write about one of these memorable programs and our important takeaways – on behalf of the whole group.

We think these are ideas that are important to share. We hope you’ll read them and take away the “big ideas” that are meaningful to you:

Andy Shallal (Busboys & Poets)
Ben-Bo on Culture (American Councils)
David Dewane (Catholic University School of Architecture)
